Its Official!!!

On Friday I unofficially resigned from my teaching job to be a stay at home Mom!!!

Monday I went in and formally gave the HR person my letter of resignation.

It was an easy, but not so easy choice to make.  I obviously have wanted to stay home with my kids since the girls were born, but it was not really possible at that time for various reasons.  When the boys were born, I knew I wanted to stay home with the four of them more than ever.  I just couldn't imagine letting someone else (besides my husband) stay home with my kids all day long.

I want to be the one who takes them to the park, plays outside, sings songs, plays games, bakes cookies, acts silly, teaches them things, and so on and so on!

Brian is an amazing dad and is going to do extra things to make money so that I can stay home.  He is already a doctoral student and graduate teaching assistant.  He is also going to teach a few extra classes as an adjunct professor at a couple different local colleges.  I have no idea how he manages to do everything, but he just does.  I might have to sub a couple days/week or get a part time job, but I won't have to be gone from home for 10 hours/day.  With my previous job I left the house at 7:00 a.m. and didn't return home until at least 5 p.m.  When I got home it was dinner, baths and bedtime.  I didn't have time to play with the girls, go places, or do much of anything.  The weekends were just crazy.  There was always something to do around the house and errands to run.  All of those things will still obviously have to get done, but now I will have all week to do them!!

I'm so excited to say the least.  There will be different challenges each day, but I'm ready for them.
