10 (and 11) Months!!

I completely dropped the ball on the boys' 10 month post.  I can't say that I didn't think about blogging.... because I did... but I just had no real motivation to get out the computer and do something productive!  The boys were 11 months old on the 22nd of January, so I'm just going to combine their 10 and 11 month posts and call it good.

10 Months

Elliott and Oliver 10 Months

Elliott and Oliver 11 Months!

Oliver got weighed last week at his GI appointment and he was 20 pounds 8 ounces.  I'm guessing Elliott is somewhere in the 25 pound range which makes him about 4 1/2 pounds heavier than Oliver.  I'm just waiting for the day when someone asks me how old my "triplets" because once Elliott starts walking and gets a little bigger, people will think he's the same age as the girls!!  (As of just a couple days ago, Oliver is 21lbs and Elliott is 25lbs 3oz! I took them to the doctor because they were sick)

The boys are still wearing 12 month and 18 month clothes.  They are in size 3 diapers, but as soon as I run out, I'm going to switch Elliott for sure to size 4s and probably Oliver too just to make things easier. (I started this post 2 weeks ago and now they are in 4s!!)  They each have their two bottom teeth (Elliott got his at 8 months and Oliver at 9) and both have their two top front teeth coming through as well.  They take three 6 ounce bottles during the day (two before naps and one before bedtime) and one late night/early morning 4 ounce bottle.  They eat 2-3 meals a day in addition to that as well.  Up until a couple months ago, Oliver was having a really hard time with his solids.  He was actually refusing to open his mouth for the spoon at all!  We started feeding therapy in October or early November and now all of his issues have been corrected.

And as of right now (11.5 months) Oliver also has a 3rd bottom tooth coming in and Elliott has a 3rd top tooth coming in!!!

Both boys love to eat and self-feed.  They eat things such as green beans, black beans, puffs, veggie sticks, cheerios, pancakes, shredded cheese, scrambled eggs, and just today I gave them tiny bits of deli turkey.  They eat a variety of purees including sweet potatoes, oatmeal, green beans, broccoli, peas, pears, apple sauce, and peaches.  I tried to give them a turkey & carrot puree, but they both hated it. I can't say I blame them.  It was pretty gross looking and smelling.  Elliott will pretty much give everything a try and eat what I give him (although he doesn't love his scrambled eggs lately)  but Oliver is a little more picky.  He will only take a couple bites of his veggie purees and when he figures out it isn't sweet, he will refuse.  To get him to eat them, I mix them with something he likes such as peaches... those are his favorite.

The boys both say mama and dada.  They do a lot of other babbling as well.  And as of 11.5 months, Elliott also says bye-bye, bite, and uh-oh.  Oliver says uh-oh too!

We have a pretty good schedule going lately, so I won't complain about that!
They go to sleep at around 7:30pm.  Elliott generally sleeps through the night, and wakes up around 5/6 am for a 4 oz bottle and then back to bed until around 8:00.  Oliver wakes up around 11:30 for a 4 oz bottle and again at 5/6am for another 4 ounces.  For the life of me I can't get him to sleep all night... still working on that.  I get up around 7:30 and pump until 8:15.  At that point the boys already have their diapers changed and are in their jumpers.  I get the girls up and we all have breakfast.  After that, we play until about 10:00 when the boys go down for their nap.  They also get a 6 oz bottle.  When they get up from their naps (1-1 1/2 hours) we play until lunch, play some more, and then I put all for kids down at 2pm so that mommy can rest a bit too.  The boys get another 6 ounces of milk as well.

Its truly amazing the things the boys are doing these days.  Elliott started walking right around 11 months!!  One day he took two steps, and a couple days later he took quite a few in a row.  He also pulls up onto everything, cruises the furniture, and crawls all over the place with lightening speed.  Oliver is in physical therapy once a week now because he does a butt scoot instead of crawling.  He will pull up to a half-kneeling position but won't pull up to stand.  He will stand when holding onto a table or someone's hands, but he's really shaky and unsure of himself.  The PT seems to be helping and I'm sure he will be chasing his sisters in no time!

The boys really are sweet.  Elliott's belly laughs will make anyone smile.  He has the chubbiest, squishiest cheeks that just beg to be kissed!!  He has a giant smile and isn't afraid to tell you what he needs or wants.  I absolutely love it when I call him over for a kiss and he comes up and gives me a big slobbery one on my lips (and sometime nose.)  He loves to "pet" the kitty and throw the ball for the dog.  He also loves to chew on my phone, pull the breastpump off the table, and check out whatever Char & Evy are doing.  Nothing will stop him from climbing these days either.  The couch is his newest thing to conquer and I couldn't believe it when I saw him do it.  I was terrified that he would face plant off of it, but nope, he somehow figured out how to put his legs off first and go off backwards.  At night, his new thing is to scoot the pack n play all over the living room.  I'm afraid that one of these days he's going to tip the thing right over!!!  He is just a happy boy through and through.  No crying unless something is truly wrong!

Oliver has a smile that will melt your heart.  He knows how to turn on the cuteness when the camera comes out and smiles every time.  He's very curious and loves to play with any toy that has a stick on it, broom (kids size), fly swatter, pen to the girls' little drawing toy, spoons, forks, etc.  He also looooves his blankey.  He puts it over his face to fall asleep and I think it helps comfort him.  He (still) sleeps in his car seat and won't sleep anywhere else.  When he does, he puts his arms up behind his head and its very very cute!!  Sometimes he will even do it when he's in the jumper, his high chair, or sitting on my lap.  I just can't get enough!  He is very patient and cautious.  He likes to check out new foods before just diving in and trying them.  Instead of letting me feed him new foods, Oliver prefers to take touch the food, and taste it before really digging in.

Its really hard to imagine my life before I had these two beautiful boys! Every day they wake up, smile at me, and melt my heart all over again.  Some days are really tough they are sick, but most days I try to take it all in stride and make the best of what the day gives us!
